The Story

A golden deer crosses the forest — and an empire of grief begins.

In Panchavati, Sita sees a deer of impossible gold. Rama follows it into the trees. Lakshmana draws a line she must not cross. The artwork holds the instant before everything changes — told in folk linework, on parchment, edged by the ancestors who have watched this story for three thousand years.

The Story

A sage at the door — and the oldest disguise in the epic.

With Rama and Lakshmana drawn away by the golden deer, a wandering ascetic arrives at the hermitage and asks for alms. Sita steps forward to give them. The plate holds the moment of the offering — the instant before the disguise falls and Sita Haran begins.
